If you have a student visa, you must pay the CVEC to the CROUS by following this link
You can download a tutorial to help you with this payment: Procédure CVEC_EN.pdf
During the procedure, you will need to complete a sworn statement: Attestation sur honneur pour la CVEC.pdf
How to rent a CROUS apartment
Find in this PDF document (in French or in English) the steps to rent an accommodation with the CROUS (student residence).
Housing assistance
In France, students from all countries may receive financial aid for their housing. France is the only country in Europe to offer this kind of help.
The APL (Aide Pour le Logement : name of this help) is calculated based on the renting price and student's income. This aid is not automatic and its amount depends on your situation.
In order to qualify for this type of aid, make sure you meet the following three requirements:
- You must have your own accommodation so that you can provide your address and the amount of your rent.
- Be registered in the French social security system
- Own a bank account in France, as the money is transferred directly to the student each month.
